Sqoop: Same Conditions, Different Results & Lessons Learned

Apache developers created a very useful tool for migrating data between RDBS and non relational system, explicitly Hadoop FS. It became an essential part of the Ecosystem because there was a very small number of companies that were primarily using such a NoSQL solution. To be honest, the main part of companies that were missing a tool for handling large amounts of data were skeptical about using the new "Big Data" technologies.

Chapters from Cryptography - We Love Secrets!

Chapter One

Digital signatures like RSA, DSA, ECDSA are widely spread and used for securing communication and information systems. These can be used also for using pseudonyms and hiding an identity, however, they are monitored and it is possible to find out the user's identity. There are other ways of coding communication however with no need of hiding an identity. In this article I am going to write a little bit about cryptography and then introduce one very interesting topic. People love secrets and even more they love revealing secrets, right? So we're going to discuss Zero-Knowledge Proof today.

MicroTargeting and Campaign Management - part II.

Today I would like to talk about what is A/B Testing and how is it used in Campaign Management.
In great companies there is no place for mistakes, you can't use something, that is not verified and 100% (or at least 90% ) proven.

When a company do a campaign using emails, the aim of this process is clear. Imagine that you are a sales director. You need to draw attention to a new product, prevent your company from clients' leaving or attract new clients. You need to use all accessible sources and the strongest weapon is information about your clients.

Okay but How?

The topics I choose are depending on various aspects but one of them is fitness for a particular work I am currently involved in. Today's selection process was very quick, I got an invitation for workshop about MicroTargeting and Campaign Management in companies, so we can compare today's post to Twitter's (yes, again) follower hunting.

"Ce soir je me fait un thè avec des petits biscuits."

or

Cyber Security is about how much we say.

Guys, recently I was doing a private small research about data security on social networks and I know this is kind of "surprising", but it amazed me how can Twitter tell so much about you. Except various statisics about usage of your devices for tweeting and links to other social networks (where people share the rest of their private life that has not been already posted on Twitter, lol), there is interesting list of infos.

Recently I was doing an analysis from Twitter data using some tools from Hadoop Ecosystem, and just from curiosity I looked closer to the data I got from Twitter API. I chose one tweet in French:

"Ce soir je me fait un thè avec des petits biscuits.

and look what I've foud out.
